Sun Tzu say, “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win”
Translation: Fund Szu say, “Victorious Funding Pros win first and then sell, while defeated Funding Pros try to sell first and then seek to win.”
Having the day, the week, the month or year we want starts in our minds and emotions.
We all have expectations of how things could go, whether consciously or unconsciously.
What’s better is to Decide in advance how we want things to go – what kind of specific Results we want to achieve within a specific time-frame.
Hey, that’s goal-setting 101 – but setting a goal and priming yourself mentally to elevate your Performance to actually achieve that goal are 2 different things.
Wise Fund Szu counsels us to Be Victorious before we sell.
Why?
Because we Perform at a higher level when we feel Strong, when we feel like a winner.
After all, Sales is Influence.
Influence is Communication.
Communication is not just a transference of information, but a transference of feeling.
When we know where we are going, and Why we are going there – we feel Strong.
When we feel Strong, we communicate more effectively, problem solve-with peak creativity, serve our customers at a higher level, close and fund more deals, and flat-out have more fun while we do it!
Visualizing our Success consistently gets us in this Strong mental and emotional state and scientifically helps us perform at a higher level to produce Optimal Results.

Australian Psychologist, Alan Richardson, made a little experiment in 2014 (actually a reprisal of an older experiment in 1987):
He took a group of basketball players, divided them into 3 groups, and tested each of the groups’ ability to make free throws.
- Group 1 would practice 20 mins every day.
- Group 2 would only visualize themselves making free throws (successfully), but no real practice was allowed.
- Group 3 would not visualize nor practice.
At the end of the experiment, Group 1, who practiced every day improved their free throw conversion by 24% – great work.
This one’s easy, Group 3, who did not practice or visualize, improved 0%.
Check this out: Group 2, who only visualized making free throws successfully, improved their real free throw conversion by 23%!!
So, the guys who did not practice, and visualized Success did almost as well as the guys who busted their butts every day practicing.
What’s possible when we Visualize Success AND Practice Successfully every day?
Get into your Victory State, and let it rip!
